So it's January and my quest to get back to London has so far been unsuccessful. I am, you see, lacking in funds. Being a blue bag makes it difficult to find work (so many employers prefer the white or branded variety). Coupled with the poor economic climate I am therefore in a state of paralysis, carrying objects for free now and again, just so I don't lose my skills. (The only problem with this is that it literally wears me down - I feel my seams thinning already).
To brighten an otherwise dull Thursday I decided to take a trip to see Norwich's impressive Castle. A Norman structure of immense proportion, housing a very informative collection of Iceni treasures. Despite the lack of polythene around in 60AD, I am a massive fan of this period and found the exhibition enlightening.
When the rain stopped, I took the opportunity for a photo, overlooking the castle and the Castle Gardens. I would have stayed longer and tried for a better shot of myself, if it were not for the two youths embroiled in a passionate embrace in the middle of the lawn- the reason behind my shocked expression. I am no prude, but I have to draw the line at 'Blue' material in broad daylight. (I also object to the besmirching of this noble colour)
Despite this, I have to conclude that Norwich is a fantastic place- I will reserve judgment on the upper level of the Castle Gardens for another occasion. The Castle, the two shopping malls, the mustard shop and the Norwich puppet theatre- a place I wholeheartedly approve of- all combine to make Norwich a place of never ending delights. Even if you don't like mustard!
